Alright, haven't posted after a run in a while but I will get back into it. I didn't have time Wednesday night to type it up for my run that day so I'll do that one first and then the one for today.
Wednesday was 2 intervals of eight minute runs with a five minute break in between them. I went to grab my Ipod so I could listen to the Robert Ullrey Podcast for the run to find that my ear buds had been accidentally taken by a friend back home when she was taking her Ipod out of my truck... So I did it with out listening to anything and just running with my Ipod so I could keep track of time. The first eight minutes went by quick and I wasn't to burnt out. The five minute walk was needed to get back into another eight minute run which went by just a bit harder then the first one. It felt like a pretty short running time today but eight minutes is the longest that I have run for so far, until today.
Today was a big twenty minute run. I was kinda worried about it because, twenty minutes?! You gotta be kidding me! I started out running a minute and felt like I was going to die, no way was I doing twenty minutes. Either way, I got out there and borrowed my friends ear buds so that I could listen to music for this long run. I paced my self and went pretty slow and I felt really good for the entire run. I hit the ten minute mark and I was still feeling pretty good and just kept on running. Finally I hit Mission Center Dr. where I had always wanted to make it to and turned around there. I walked for 5 seconds while I turned around and then just kept on chugging. About 16 minutes in I had to stop and walk to get my side cramp to go away and get my breathing under control. That took about 30 seconds and then I took off running again. I RAN TWENTY MINUTES! I pretty much didn't stop at all except for one little bit. I even ran a extra minute cause the podcast for day one and two ended up being one minute longer so I figured why not, and just kept going. I'm pretty stoked that I am up to twenty minutes now. I'm excited that I have made it this far and I never thought I would be able to do it. Pacing yourself and running slower then you think you should really does work for going the distance.

Oooops.
Well, I know I have not posted here in a few weeks but I am still doing the running program. I have been home the past two weekends hanging out with friends and just chillen and didn't really have time / motivation to get to posting so I will start again tomorrow now that I am back down here and will be here till my quarter finishes. (4 weeks).
All my runs have been great and I got rid of the knee problem that I was having. Turns out the insoles that Road Runner Sports suggested were messing with something and just making me knees go nuts. Now that those are out I am running pain free and feel great.
Anyway, Roommate wants to sleep so I gotta end this. Ill post up how my 8 min. run goes tomorrow. Till then.

Week Three Day Two
Sorry that this is a day late but I didn't have to write it up yesterday. I did homework for way to long and then had to go to bed for class. I did do my run yesterday and I finished it again. My knee's are still hurting and when I got home from the run I held my makeshift icing against my knee (Water bottle).
I ran in the gym, on the treadmill again today so that my knees could have a break from the concrete to heal a bit. The run went pretty good. Again it was a breeze to do the intervals for this week (90 then 3 min). Every time I landed on my left foot it was like a sharp pain on the inside of my knee. I'm not to sure what is going on with em since I am barely even new to running but hopefully they will get better.
I am looking forward to my last run of week three tomorrow and the two more days of rest after then jumping right into week four.
I am pretty pleased with how I am keeping up with this even though things are no where near 100% for me.

Week Three Day One
Despite what happened to my legs last week they were actually only hurting in one area today. The inside of my knees. I was still determined to go and do the run for today.
Since my knees were hurting I decided it would be best to run on the treadmill at the gym here in the apartments. Overall today's run went by fast, didn't hurt that much, and was pretty easy to complete. It was two intervals of ninety seconds running then walking then three minutes running and walking. There was a little pinpointed pressure in my knee but it wasn't to bad that it made me stop running. This weeks run is pretty short and easy to do which will be good for my legs to calm down just a bit.
I'm looking forward to week four already and whats beyond. I can really see my stamina increasing through out all of this, if anything. My weight not so much but I don't have a scale so I guess I really shouldn't assume anything.

Week Two Day Three
The last day of week two and I did it! My legs defiantly need these two days of rest, especially they way that they are feeling right now. I ran on the nature walk way like always and today wasn't much better compared to Wednesday when my leg problems started.
I started off by stretching really well to make sure my legs weren't all messed up like they were on Wednesday. During the warm up walk they felt pretty good, but during the first running interval they felt really heavy and just not right. I continued through all the intervals and through it all they felt fine. I ran all the intervals perfectly until the very last one where my legs started to hurt again. During the cool down walk they were hurting just as bad if not worse then Wednesday. I hobbled back to my apartment and did my version of R.I.C.E. First I elevated them and it hurt to even do that so I stopped and was looking for a way to ice them (No ice in the apartment ever.) I finally figured that I would just turn the tub on cold and sit in it (FREEEEEZING) which is what I ended up doing. After they were nice and numb I went back to elevating them and they felt alot better after the ice. But now walking around a few hours later there is a sharp pain when I step in my knees.
Overall its a pretty big bummer to feel this bad so early on. I'm going to move on next week and really rest over these two days off.

Week Two Day Two
Today was day two of my second week running, and it didn't go so hot as the first day. I got home later then normal cause I was out hanging with some friends from school and then had to drive back from San Marcos where we had our field trip today to a Micro Greens Producer.
I walked over to the nature walk way for my warm up walk and I felt fine except a little cold cause it was a bit chilly out. I felt pretty loose and the first run interval hit. My legs just didn't feel like they wanted to move, they got pretty tight pretty fast and I figured that this would go away after the rest walk and maybe into another run, but that didn't happen. I'm not sure if it was the cold air or that I haven't been feeling good lately (Stomach hurts like crazy)or that I was back to running on concrete (only one run on dirt) but my legs just were not going to work well today. It was really tight in my left hip and quad and my right calf. Every time I had to run my legs just didn't want to pick up and every time I stepped they felt like they were going to just crumble under me. For all of the intervals today I was basically doing a run shuffle cause I just couldn't get my legs moving. What was weird was that it hurt really bad on my rest walks and sort of subsided when I was doing my shuffle type run. On the third or so interval during the resting walk I just stopped and stretched which really didn't help but I thought that it might. I finished up all of the intervals but they weren't pleasant to do.
Over the weekend at home my eating kinda went back to how it used to be so now that I am back down here in SD its time to go back to the better eating. I haven't really noticed any difference in weight but I'm hoping eventually I will. It gets pretty frustrating thinking that I can eat to little and go into starving but if I eat to much I wont loose anything. Either way its a loose loose situation here. How do I know that I am eating to much or to little. I eat when I feel hungry and not just boredom hungry. I have a apple and a banana pretty much everyday and everything else I try to stick to somewhat of a WW diet.
Hopefully after a day of rest they will feel better on Friday when I go for the last run of the week. Either way I plan on moving on to week three next week and I am looking forward to it.

Week Two Day One
I came home for the weekend to see some friends and the family and just to hang out but today was also Monday so that ment running day. I brought my running gear with me because I knew that I would be running today so out I went for week two. I was anxious to see how hard 30 more seconds would be for the intervals but it turned out not to bad.
I was thinking of where I would go running at but I knew that concrete would not be planned because of so many dirt paths that are really close around here. I headed down to the park right behind our house and ran back and forth along the dirt nature path that they have. Each run and walk interval was about the whole path so it worked out pretty well. I realized how much better on your body running on dirt is. I have no soreness and it just felt alot softer then the concrete that I run on back down in San Diego. The first interval felt pretty good and I was suprised that I wasnt begging for Roberts voice to come on the podcast and say it was time for the walk. I actually ran it and was like "Wow I ran a minute and a half and it didnt really feel that long." About half way through I was starting to feel it and was getting pretty tired but I pushed through it and finished all of the intervals.
Im heading back down to San Diego tomorrow so it is back to concrete on Wednesday but it shouldnt be to bad. Being home was nice cause my parents stocked me up on food for the next few weeks and it was also nice just to see some of my friends that I miss while Im down for school. I have a paper to write for my Ethics class now so... See ya Wednesday.
